Children of God - mentioned in Scripture

“Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself; I am the LORD.” (Le 19:18 Webster)

“28  Say not to thy neighbor, Go, and come again, and to-morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. 29  Devise not evil against thy neighbor, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.” (Pr 3:28-29 Webster)

“1   A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2  He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. 3  He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbor, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor.” (Ps 15:1-3 Webster)

“37  Jesus said to him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38  This is the first and great commandment. 39  And the second is like it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Mt 22:37-40 Webster)

“36  Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor to him that fell among the robbers? 37  And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus to him, Go, and do thou likewise.” (Lu 10:36-37 Webster)

“Love worketh no ill to one’s neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” (Ro 13:10 Webster)

“Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification.” (Ro 15:2 Webster)

“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.” (Eph 4:25 Webster)

“13   For, brethren, ye have been called to liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14  For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 15  But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one by another.” (Ga 5:13-15 Webster)

“If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well:” (Jas 2:8 Webster)

The one who set the standard

With the writings on this site and some of our others sites, like Stepping Toes, the Brethren in Christ and our ecclesia site, we would love to bring more people to come to know Who took care of all the beautiful things we can see around us and what promises where given to humankind.

With the postings you shall be able to find on this site and on the above mentioned, we do hope you and many other readers coming along here, shall come to see what a beautiful message is given to humankind.
In the past many men of God told about the wonders which came and still shall come onto the people who are willing to recognise their Creator.

On this and the other mentioned pages we do hope to give an idea of the many promises which also can become a reality for us. All of us can find a hope which is set before all of us. We only should be willing to come to see it and believe those things which have been told in the past.

Once you begin to appreciate the Hope God sets before us in His Word, you want to know how to lay hold of it. You realize as you read more, that He sets a standard for men to follow which you have not begun to reach. If you really want to please God, you will feel the need, like those men in Jerusalem, to have your conscience made clean. The way God has prescribed for us is to be baptised into the Lord Jesus, symbolically washing away in the waters our old life, and starting again as if we were newly born, members of God's holy people. Then, the New Testament insists, we shall be heirs of those promises of the Kingdom of God:
"For in Christ Jesus", writes Paul, "you are all sons of God, through faith" (Galatians 3:26).
Imagine that! What a privilege, to be called sons and daughters of God!
"For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise" (Galatians 3: 27-29).
All that Jesus inherits -- the land, the throne, the blessing-all will be ours. How exciting and moving it is, to think what God offers us. It is as if we are being introduced already to the new covenant God will make with His people. God's law is written on our heart, our sins are washed away, and we are enrolled for a place in that age when war and famine, sin and sorrow will be banished for ever from the earth.

Paul uses another figure in Romans 11. He says we Gentile believers are like sprigs of a wild olive tree that have been picked up by God the gardener and grafted into the stem of the olive tree of Israel. We share the rich sap that keeps the life flowing, and we will be there in the time of harvest.
"I want you to understand this mystery brethren",
he says, as he explains the long gap between the two Comings:
"a hardening has come upon part of Israel".
He means that only a minority of the Jewish people accepted the good news Jesus and the apostles brought; the hearts of the rest were too hard for the good seed of the Kingdom to grow.
But Israel's hardness of heart is not for ever.
"Until the full number of the Gentiles come in", he continues, "and so all Israel will be saved; as it is written"

-- and he quotes from one of the 'Messiah' passages in Isaiah --
"the Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob. And this will be my covenant with them",
he adds, repeating the passage we read from Jeremiah 33,
"when I take away their sins" (Romans 11:24-27).
Notice the time period-when the full number of the Gentiles has come in. It has not come in yet. God is still calling us to come into His family. But one day, soon, perhaps very soon, the door will be shut. The Lord Jesus will be here with power to rule over the nations, and bring men to judgement for despising God's laws.

To whom do we want to be enslaved

Be enslaved to Christ

In our search to come some where or to accomplish something it can well be that we do try to find solutions in human organisations. We try to clinch to those who seem to have the power to make everything work better.

Perhaps we are blinded and do not notice the reality behind the curtain. We want to believe those organisations would be able to create what we are not (yet) able to do, and we show them are weakness, but by doing that we also give them the assurance they can go ahead and take charge over us.

By putting our hopes and aspirations on those human constructions we perhaps forget to see the real man behind it all, or the man in whom we should better trust more.  Though we may try to follow Jesus not seeing any advancement around us, in this world, the danger looks around the corner that we go and clinch more to those human organisations instead of trusting in the cornerstone of the Church and in his Father, Who calls those Who He wants to be with Him.

But by not having patience enough, we do think human people could bring a solution. Normally they could help, yes. Normally people should help to continue missionary work, and getting people to come together to share the Word of God. In this world we do often forget that it is ruled not by Christ yet and not by God but by the powers of this world, where so many are being tempted to have a taste of such power.

Getting doors slammed against our face, undergoing several trials, it is up to us to get up after falling and to try to continue our way, in the name of Christ, and not in the name of such or such organisation. Our hope and our eyes should not be on those worldly organisations nor on worldly-things but on the spiritual and on the powers which are above all human power.

Hopefully we have found that answer and are among those who “followed him”, making our lives count in some meaningful ways, according to our abilities, in the way we follow him.

A last thought: “whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved” (2 Peter 2:19). Let us be enslaved to Christ; remember, it is not possible to be only half committed....

Each of us has to make the choice to whom we wanted to be connected and in which way we want to be united. We should find each other in love to be willing to be united under Christ willing to grow as a part of his body, and to become one in spirit with him (1 Corinthians 6:17; 12:27; Ephesians 5:30)

As son and daughters we should give each other the outstretched hand of peace and co-operation, with the aim to help each other to become one in Christ (Galatians 3:26, 28)

It is in Christ we should be willing to grow, giving ourself up as a volunteer to become a tool in  God’s workmanship ‐‐ His handiwork ‐‐ born anew in Christ to do his work (Ephesians 2:10) Hand in hand with brethren and sisters in Christ we should feel connected, not being slaves of this world or bounded by handcuffs to one particular organisation here on earth, but as free fellow citizens with the rest of God’s family (Ephesians 2:19)

In case we do have to be enslaved to somebody, or have to be a prisoner of, than it should be Jesus  Christ, the Nazarene man who liberated us from all chains. (Ephesians 3:1, 4:1)

As children of God we should come to see who is our brother and who is our sister,  and accept them with their own peculiarities, living under a new law, not made by man from  worldly organisations, but by a Supreme Being. A higher law and a more glorious dispensation.  By faith we receive it and should embrace it,  no longer walking after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Everything we do should not be for our own glory or for the glory of one particular worldly organisation. We should be a product of the Spirit and this Holy Spirit, the Power of God should find a welcoming place in our hearts. We should be willing to give ourselves so that the Holy Spirit can abide in us and that we are offering ourselves for His glory and no longer for our own.  (1 John 5:4)

Not words of any organisation should bind you, but the Word of God

English: Converted into a home. The old Church...

Many people do think they only can be considered religious when they belong to a church and go to Sunday mass or Sunday service. They think it is all right when they just listen to the sermon, and think their own part of it. For the rest of the week they think they are in the clearance and they will earn their heaven.
English: Roman Catholic Church, Bedgrove. This...

It should not be the connection with one or the other church that should bring us peace at heart. Our priority should not be on the regulations of one or the other church-organisation. It also should not be a one week off thing.

To be a child of God we should have more than one visit a week by our heavenly Father. The thing that greets your mind and fills your heart as you wake each morning should be your relationship with the Most High Elohim. It should be His Name, Jehovah, that should be on your lips all day long. His commandments should guide you and not so much the commandments of human organisations.

I do agree we can not do without human organisations and human regulations in this world. We have to live in this world so have to be people trying to make a living in this world. But that does not mean we do have to be 'from this world'. We should be not "of this world" but "be in it". Being aware of what happens and reacting to what happens. So we can not be ignoring lots of things what happen.

We should protect those who have no voice (plants, animals and poor human beings). We should come up for the weak ones, be it plants, animals or human beings.

Being in this world we should let us guide by the Word of God, the Most High Sovereing.

The best Guide for us is the Word of God, which should be in our mind from morning until late at night. Your final thought as you settle in for a night of sleep should be how you kept your relation that day in harmony with the Word of God. Conformity of your beliefs accordance the Bible.

Your willingness to stay in line with the commandments of God, more than with the regulations of a chuch denomination or laws of a country should be your priority.  It should define how you face your day, and it should shape your self-reflections. It should be the thing that directs how you respond to others. It should be at the forefront of your thoughts in times of trouble or disappointment. It should alter how you think about finances, possessions, decisions, relationships, and everything else. It should be a central theme of your existence. It's so huge, so gorgeous, and so glorious that once it gets hold of you, you’ll never be the same again.

That is what shall make you a follower of Christ and being worthy to call yourself a Christian.  Often trinitarians say we non-trinitarians are no Christians, but they forget that being a Christian means following the teaching of Christ. Often they are more following the dogmatic teachings of their denomination. As such we could say they should not call themselves Christian, but should call themselves Roman Catholic, Orthodox Catholic, Old Catholic, Lutheran, Calvinist, Anglican, or follower of the Church of England, but not follower of Christ.

Those who would like to follow Christ Jesus, Jeshua from Nazareth, accepting that he really did die for their sins (remember God can not die)  making him as their saviour and master teacher, high priest and mediator for God and man.

You don’t need to be an expert at riddles for this one. I‘m talking about grace.

If you’re God’s child, grace is the stunning core reality of your existence. It’s the most amazing thing that has ever happened to you, or ever will. It has changed everything you have, do, and are. It’s redefined your past, refocused your present, and reshaped your future. It’s the thing that you’ve needed since your first breath. It’s an absolutely essential ingredient of productive living on this side of eternity. It’s what you and I will focus on and celebrate for the rest of eternity. And it’s vital that in preparation for eternity we start our celebration now.

Those who take Jesus to be God nullify Jesus his action and degrade him to a fake and liar, because all the things he said about himself and God are than not true and he did not tell the truth when he said he did not know who would be sitting next to him in the Kingdom of God, or when the end-times would come. Jesus even said he did not know when he would return but God knows everything. So when Jesus is God he did tell gross lies.

If you would have your child telling it does not know who did what, when it did it herself, would you not consider it to be not telling the truth? When it did something and would say "I did not do it, but it was my father who did it" would you not call it a liar?

Those who take Jesus for the human being, having flesh, blood and bones, whilst God as a Spirit has not such things, and are willing to follow the teachings of this Nazarene Jew, who believed in the God of Abraham and showed us the way to his heavenly Father, they perhaps can call themselves a follower of Christ or Christian. And when they are baptised and take Jehovah God as their only One God between all the gods of this earth, they can become children of God like Jesus was a son of God, they could be a daughter or son of God and calling Christ their 'brother' and other males 'brother in Christ' and other females 'sister in Christ'.

All the others better call themselves the Church they are following so be an Pentecostal or Evangelist, or Catholic, but not a Christian in the pure sense of the word. They better choose if they want to become a Christian or stay a Catholic, and be part of the Babylon and not of God.

Humility and the Fear of the Lord

By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches and honour and life . . . with the humble is wisdom . . . The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.  (Pro 22:4; Pro 11:2; and Pro 9:10)Walking in humility is the pathway for living by the grace of God. "God . . . gives grace to the humble" (1Pe 5:5). In our present verses, we see that humility and the fear of the Lord are related. Humility and the fear of the Lord result in the same blessings. "By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches and honor and life." The closing trio ("riches and honor and life") are an Old Testament description of a life that is fully blessed by God. The New Testament counterpart would be fullness of spiritual life. "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly" (Joh 10:10). Humility and the fear of the Lord also result in wisdom. "With the humble is wisdom . . . The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." Humility is the candid acknowledgement of our absolute need for the Lord to work comprehensively in our lives day by day. The fear of the Lord is respect and reverence toward our great God. It is not a fear involving terror or apprehension. Rather, it is based upon profound admiration and dependent devotion. Those who humbly fear the Lord (by placing their admiration and devotion in Him) also embrace His perspectives and values.  They develop a hatred for the things that He hates. "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate" (Pro 8:13). Correspondingly, those who have respect and reverence for the Lord develop a love for all that He loves. The Lord loves for His people to walk in righteousness and justice. "The LORD loves the righteous . . . the LORD loves justice" (Psa 146:8 and Psa 37:28). The Lord loves Israel, His chosen nation. "The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples" (Deu 7:7). The Lord loves His church, the children of God. "Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!" (1Jo 3:1). The Lord loves the world, those who need to know Him. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (Joh 3:16).

Lord God almighty, I humbly bow before You, acknowledging my absolute need for You to work comprehensively in my life day by day. I want to walk in the fear of the Lord, placing my admiration and devotion in You. I want to hate all that You hate and love all that You love, in Jesus name, Amen.

- Hoekstra

We all are changed into the same image from glory to glory

“For our citizenship is in Heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, [the] Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our body of humiliation, for it to be conformed to His body of glory, according to the working of His power, even to put all things under Himself.” (Php 3:20-21 LIT)

“And from above the expanse that [was] over their heads [was] an appearance like a sapphire stone, the likeness of a throne. And on the likeness of the throne [was] a likeness in appearance like a man on it from above. And I saw [Him], like the color of polished bronze, looking like fire within it all around. From the appearance of His loins and upward, and from the appearance of His loins and downward, I saw [Him] looking like fire; and brightness to it all around. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of the rain, so appeared the brightness all around. This [was] the appearance of the likeness of the glory of Jehovah. And I saw, and I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.” (Eze 1:26-28 LIT)

“But we all with [our] face having been unveiled, having beheld the glory of [the] Lord in a mirror, are being changed [into] the same image from glory to glory, as from [the] Lord Spirit.” (2Co 3:18 LIT)

“Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we shall be. But we know that if He is revealed, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.” (1Jo 3:2 LIT)

“And they will not hunger still, nor will they thirst still, nor at all shall fall on them the sun, nor any kind of heat.” (Re 7:16 LIT)

“And they sing the song of Moses the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous [are] Your works, Lord God Almighty, righteous and true [are] Your ways, King of the saints.” (Re 15:3 LIT)
