In this time of seeing lots of things which can give a signal to us that we are coming closer to a special period long ago declared in the Bible to be a period to warn the people we should hear watchman speaking about :
  • Moral standards in decline and violence on the increase.
  • Increasing natural disasters: including earthquake, famine etc
  • Israel: The continuing conflict in the Middle East and focus on Jerusalem
  • Europe:  Its developing union, both political and religious
  • Russia: Its return to anti-Western ways as Bible prophecy’s “king of the north.”
Andy Walton endeavours to be faithful to the scriptures and hopes that it will be of benefit to both who want to listen and sea what is happening in the world.

Speciesism and racism

The doyen of utilitarian philosophers, Peter Singer, of Princeton University explains in an interview in the New York Times  that while racism still exists, most people are aware that they are wrong. However, this is far from being the case with animals.

Although it is true, of course, that we have not overcome racism, sexism or discrimination against people with disabilities, there is at least widespread acceptance that such discrimination is wrong, and there are laws that seek to prevent it. With speciesism, we are very far from reaching that point. If we were to compare attitudes about speciesism today with past racist attitudes, we would have to say that we are back in the days in which the slave trade was still legal, although under challenge by some enlightened voices.
Christians should be much more aware of their impact of their food use in this universe. We should be much more aware what we are doing in nature or causing to animals and plants by our choice of food.
one might argue that to kill a normal human being who wants to go on living is more seriously wrong than killing a nonhuman animal. Whether this claim is or is not sound, it is not speciesist. But given that some human beings – most obviously, those with profound intellectual impairment – lack this capacity, or have it to a lower degree than some nonhuman animals, it would be speciesist to claim that it is always more seriously wrong to kill a member of the species Homo sapiens than it is to kill a nonhuman animal.

Bible sayings about God

To get to know who God is and what exactly is being said about Him, we may well depend on what is written in the Holy Scriptures or the Bible.

If we are talking here about God, we mean the Creator God who is the God of gods and may be called as One True God we all must recognise as such. The works of creation provide evidence of the existence of an intelligent God Who created everything and directs everything. The Elohim Hashem Jehovah, the True God, is Almighty and All-Knowing. It is important to know his name and use it. According to the Holy Scriptures or the Bible there are other creatures, including angels and people called god. Among those gods there are people in high positions [like Pharaoh, men of God (like Moses), "gods"] (John 10:34) but also false gods (1 Corinthians 8: 5; Jeremiah 10: 14-15) or creatures that are wrongly considered to be highly regarded and worshipped (like idols). However worship belongs to the One True God. Worthless or false gods are powerless to help worshippers. This only the Supreme God is capable of doing so. (Habakkuk 2:18; Jeremiah 14:22)

Jehovah Himself is Justice and not the cause of wickedness. (Psalm 145: 17; Revelation of the Apostles 15: 3). The Created human being is made in the image of God and endowed with freedom of choice. (Genesis 1: 26-27; Genesis 4: 6-7; Genesis 5: 3; Genesis 9: 6; Joshua 25:15; Acts 13:48)

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1 NHEB)

“Who is like you, LORD, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” (Exodus 15:11 NHEB)

“Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods because of the thing in which they dealt arrogantly against them."” (Exodus 18:11 NHEB)

“4  Hear, Israel: the LORD is our God, the LORD is one. 5 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. 6 These words, which I command you this day, shall be on your heart; 7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9 NHEB)

“For I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Ascribe greatness to our God!” (Deuteronomy 32:3 NHEB)

“Yours, LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.” (1 Chronicles 29:11 NHEB)

His hands formed the dry land. 6 Oh come, let’s worship and bow down. Let’s kneel before the LORD, our Maker, 7  for he is our God. We are the people of his pasture, and the sheep in his care.

(Psaumes 95:3-9 JER)

Bijbelgezegden over God

(Habakuk 2:18; Jeremias 14:22)

(Psalmen 95:3-9 NLB)
