Through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe

More than that,
I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,
for whom I have suffered the loss of all things,
and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,
and may be found in Him,
not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law,
but that which is through faith in Christ,
the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith…
(Philippians 3:8-9 NAS)

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf,
so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
(2 Corinthians 5:21 NAS)

But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested,
being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe;
for there is no distinction;
(Romans 3:21-22)

Written down in God's Name for righteousness

“23  It is not written for him only, that it was reckoned {|counted|} to him for righteousness: 24 but also for us, to whom it shall be counted for righteousness so we believe on him that raised, up Jesus our Lord from death.” (Romans 4:23-24 TRC)

“Whatsoever things are written aforetime, are written for our learning that we thorow patience and comfort of the scripture should {might} have hope.” (Romans 15:4 TRC)

“16 For all scripture given by inspiration of God, is profitable to teach, to improve, to inform, {amend} and to instruct in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be perfect, and prepared unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 TRC)

“19  We have also a more sure word {a right sure word} of prophecy, whereunto if ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, ye do well, until the day dawn and the day star arise in your hearts. 20 So that ye first know this, that no prophecy in the scripture hath {|is done of|} any private interpretation. 21 For the scripture {|prophecy|} came never by the will of man: but wholy men of God spake as they were moved by the wholy ghost.” (2 Peter 1:19-21 TRC)

“that is to wit Jesus Christ, which must heaven receive {receive heaven} until the time that all things be restored again, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. {,be restored again.}” (Acts 3:21 TRC)

“These words the LORD spake unto all your multitude in the mount out of the fire, cloud and darkness, with a loud voice, and added no more thereto, and wrote them in two tables of stone and delivered them unto me.” (Deuteronomy 5:22 TRC)

“8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law, manifestly and well. 9 And Moses with the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel saying: take heed and hear Israel, this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God. 10 Hearken therefore unto the voice of the LORD thy God and do his commandments and his ordinances which I command you this day.” (Deuteronomy 27:8-10 TRC)

“2 the spirit of the LORD spake in me, and his words were on my tongue. 3 The God of Israel spake unto me, and the strength of Israel said: he that beareth rule over men, he that ruleth justly in the fear of God. 4 And he shall be as the morning light, when the son shineth in a morning in which are no clouds to let the brightness, and as the grass of the earth is by the virtue of the rain.” (2 Samuel 23:2-4 TRC)

“Is not my word like a fire? sayeth the LORD, and like an hammer, that breaketh the hard stone?” (Jeremiah 23:29 TRC)

“He answered, and said unto me: This is the word of the LORD unto Zorobabel, saying: Neither thorow an host of men, nor thorow strength, but thorow my spirit, sayeth the LORD of Hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6 TRC)

“yea they made their hearts as an Adamant stone lest they should hear the law and words, which the LORD of Hosts sent in his holy spirit by the prophets afore time. Wherefore the LORD of Hosts was very wroth at them.” (Zechariah 7:12 TRC)

“for David himself inspired with the holy ghost said: The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand till I make thine enemies thy foot stool.” (Mark 12:36 TRC)

“Ye men and brethren, this scripture must {have} needs be {been} fulfilled which the holy ghost thorow the mouth of David spake before of Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.” (Acts 1:16 TRC)

“But {those things which} God which {had} shewed before by the mouth of all his prophets {how} that Christ should suffer, {<he>} hath thus wise fulfilled it.” (Acts 3:18 TRC)

“By a prophet the LORD brought them out of Egypt, and by a prophet he preserved them.” (Hosea 12:13 TRC)

“For it is my comfort in my trouble, yea thy word quickeneth me.” (Psalms 119:50 TRC)

“For the commandment is a lantern, and the law a light: yea chastening and nurture is the way of life:” (Proverbs 6:23 TRC)

“and yet shew mercy unto thousands among them that love me and keep my commandments.” (Exodus 20:6 TRC)

“And the LORD said unto Moses: come up to me in to the hill and be there, and I will give thee tables of stone and a law and commandments, which I have written to teach them.” (Exodus 24:12 TRC)

“And see that thou keep the appointment of the LORD thy God, that thou walk in his ways and keep his commandments, ordinances, laws and testimonies, even as it is written in the law of Moses: that thou mayest understand all that thou oughtest to do, and all that thou shouldest meddle with.” (1 Kings 2:3 TRC)

“And I pray God that your hearts may be sound with the LORD our God, to walk in his ordinances and to keep his laws as we do this day.” (1 Kings 8:61 TRC)

“Either {|Or|} saith he it not all together for our sakes? For our sakes no doubt this is written: that he which eareth should ear in {|upon|} hope: and that he which thresheth in {|upon|} hope, should {|that he might|} be partaker of his hope.” (1 Corinthians 9:10 TRC)

“All these things happened upon them for ensamples, and were written to put us in remembrance, {|to warn us|} whom the ends of the world are come upon.” (1 Corinthians 10:11 TRC)

“For whom the LORD loveth, him he chasteneth: and yet delighteth in him even as a father in his own son.” (Proverbs 3:12 TRC)

“and such as cleaveth unto the true word of doctrine, that he may be able to exhort with wholesome learning, and to improve them that say against it.” (Titus 1:9 TRC)

“and whoremongers: to them that defile themselves with mankind: to menstealers: to liars and to perjured, and so forth if there be any other thing that is contrary to wholesome doctrine” (1 Timothy 1:10 TRC)

“If any man teach otherwise, and is not content with {|agreeth not unto|} the wholesome words of our Lord Jesu Christ, and with the doctrine of godliness,” (1 Timothy 6:3 TRC)

“See thou have the example of the wholesome words which thou heardest of me, in {|concerning|} faith and love which is in Jesu Christ.” (2 Timothy 1:13 TRC)

“This witness is true, wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,” (Titus 1:13 TRC)

“And ye have forgotten the consolation which speaketh unto you, as unto children: My son despise not the chastening of the Lord, neither faint when thou art rebuked of him:” (Hebrews 12:5 TRC)

“{<And>} His disciples remembered, how that it was written: The zeal of thine house, hath even eaten me.” (John 2:17 TRC)

“It is the spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak unto you are spirit and life.” (John 6:63 TRC)

“23 Jesus answered and said unto him: if a man love me and will keep my sayings, my father also will love him, and we will come unto him, and will dwell with him. 24 He that loveth me not, keepeth not my sayings. And the words which ye hear are not mine, but my {the} father’s, which sent me. 25  This have I spoken unto you being yet present with you. 26 But that comforter which is the holy ghost (whom my father will send in my name) {<he>} shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have told you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. Not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your hearts be grieved, neither fear ye. 28  Ye have heard how I said unto you: I go and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would verily rejoice, because I said, I go unto the father. For the father is greater than I. 29 And now have I shewed you, before it come, that when it is come to pass, ye might believe. 30 Here after will I not talk many words unto you. For the chief ruler of this world cometh, and hath nought in me. 31 But that the world may know that I love my {the} father; And {Therefore} as the father gave me commandment, even so do I. Rise let us go hence.” (John 14:23-31 TRC)

“Jesus answered them, and said: My doctrine is not mine: but his that sent me.” (John 7:16 TRC)

“For I have not spoken of myself: but the father which sent me{,he} gave me a commandment what I should say, and what I should speak.” (John 12:49 TRC)

“10 Believest thou not that I am in the father, and the father in me? The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of myself: but the father dwelling {that dwelleth} in me is he that doeth the works. 11 Believe {<me>} that I am in the father, and the father in me. At the least believe me for the very works’ sake. 12  Verily, verily I say unto you whosoever {he that} believeth on me, the works that I do, the same shall he do, and greater works then these shall he do, because I go unto my father. 13 And whatsoever ye ask in my name, that will I do, that the father might be glorified by {|may be praised in|} the son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name I will do it. 15  If ye love me keep my commandments, 16 and I will pray the father, and he shall give you another comforter, that he may bide with you ever, 17 which is the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive, because the world seeth him not, neither knoweth him. But ye know him. For he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18  I will not leave you comfortless: I {but} will come unto {to} you.” (John 14:10-18 TRC)

“When they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word: well spake the holy ghost by Esay the prophet unto our fathers,” (Acts 28:25 TRC)

“10  Finally, my brethren be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the armour of God, that ye may stand steadfast against the crafty assaults of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood: but against rule, against power, {|<namely>|} and against worldly rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in {for} heavenly things. {|under the heaven|} 13 For this cause take unto you the armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the evil day, and to stand perfect in all things. 14 Stand therefore and your loins gird about with verity, {|trueth|} having on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and shod with shoes prepared by the gospel {gospell} of peace. 16 Above all take to you the shield of faith, wherewith ye may quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of health, {salvation} and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God,” (Ephesians 6:10-17 TRC)

“But let us which are of the day be sober, armed with the breast plate of faith and love, and with hope of health, {salvation} as an helmet. {|the helmet of hope to salvation|}” (1 Thessalonians 5:8 TRC)

“It is the spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak unto you are spirit and life.” (John 6:63 TRC)

“for the word of God is quick, and mighty in operation, and sharper than any two edged sword: and entereth through, even unto the dividing a sunder of the soul and the spirit and of the joints, and the mary: and judgeth the thoughts and the intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 TRC)

“and so shall he not honour his father and {or his} mother. And thus have ye made, that the commandment of God is with out effect, through your traditions.” (Matthew 15:6 TRC)

“and thus have ye made the commandment {making the word} of God of none effect through your own traditions which ye have ordained. And many such things ye do.” (Mark 7:13 TRC)

“for ye are born a new, not of mortal {|corruptible|} seed, but of immortal {|uncorruptible|} seed, by the word of God which liveth, and lasteth for ever, {|by the living word of God, which endureth for ever|}” (1 Peter 1:23 TRC)

“It came to the ears of the apostles and the brethren which were in Jewry, that the heathen also had received the word of God. {And the Apostles and the brethren that were thorowout Jewry heard say that the Heathen had also received the word of God.}” (Acts 11:1 TRC)

“For this cause thank we God without ceasing, because that when ye received of us the word, wherewith God was preached, ye received it not as the word of man: but even as it was in deed, {|is of a trueth|} the word of God, which worketh in you that believe.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13 TRC)

“And this say we unto you in the word of the Lord, that we which live and are remaining in the coming of the Lord, shall not come yer they, which sleep.” (1 Thessalonians 4:15 TRC)

“Of his own will begat he us with the word of life, that we should be the first of his creatures. {that we should be the first fruits of his creatures.}” (James 1:18 TRC)

Paulus to Philemon

Philemon
1:1 Paul, a prisoner of Yahushua the Messiah, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,
1:2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the assembly in thy house:
1:3 Favour to you, and peace, from YHWH our Father and the Master Yahushua the Messiah.
1:4 I thank my Elohim, making mention of thee always in my prayers,
1:5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Master Yahushua , and toward all saints;
1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in the Messiah Yahushua.
1:7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.
1:8 Wherefore, though I might have much boldness in the Messiah to command you what is fitting,
1:9 Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Yahushua the Messiah.
1:10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
1:11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:
1:12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:
1:13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the evangel:
1:14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
1:15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;
1:16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Master?
1:17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
1:18 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;
1:19 I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.
1:20 Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in YHWH: refresh my tender affections in YHWH.
1:21 Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
1:22 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
1:23 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in the Messiah Yahushua;
1:24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.
1:25 The favour of our Master Yahushua the Messiah be with your spirit. . .

Foundation to go the distance

“Rather, encourage one another every day as long as we call it “Today.” [Do this] so that none of you ever become hardened by the seduction of sin. For in reality we only become partakers of the Christ if we hold on to the fundamentals we had at the beginning steadfast until the finish.” (Heb 3:13-14 MHM)
“Also, may we show consideration to one another, stirring up like a fire among ourselves compassionate affection and good works. May we not quit our assembling together in meetings as is the custom of some persons. Rather, continue to be encouraging, and so much more as you behold the Day drawing closer.” (Heb 10:24-25 MHM)
“On the subject of showing benevolent empathy for the brothers you do not need us to write to you, for all of you are God-taught to continue to have compassionate affection for one another. And surely you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we encourage all of you, brothers, to keep doing it even more.” (1Th 4:9-10 MHM)
“In addition, brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant concerning those who are sleeping [in death]. That you do not persist in grieving as everyone else does who are without hope. For if our conviction is that Jesus died and rose again, just so, also, those who have fallen asleep believing in Jesus, The God will gather together and lead to [Jesus].” (1Th 4:13-14 MHM)
“And so all of you continue to comfort one another with these words.” (1Th 4:18 MHM)
“In response to the above, holy “brothers” –partakers of a heavenly calling–thoughtfully consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.” (Heb 3:1 MHM)
“[You were taught] to put away the old person–that is, your former course of conduct–who was corrupted by seductive desires.” (Eph 4:22 MHM)
“Therefore, continue to comfort one another and building one another up just as you continue to do.” (1Th 5:11 MHM)
“preach the Word urgently in season or out of season, convince, reprove, and encourage with all tolerance and art of teaching.” (2Ti 4:2 MHM)
“In contrast, Christ as a Son [was faithful] over [God’s] House. We [“brothers”] are the House of that One–but only if we continue steadfast in our confident boasting regarding the Hope until a finish.” (Heb 3:6 MHM)
“But, “faith” is hoping for something, [hoping for] the reality of things without visible proof.” (Heb 11:1 MHM)
“For, indeed, these [human fathers] disciplined us for a few days according to what seemed [right] to them. However, [the Spiritual Father] does so for our benefit that we may partake of His holiness.” (Heb 12:10 MHM)
“But rather all of you continue to rejoice because of sharing in the sufferings of the Christ, so that you might also rejoice in exultation at the revelation of his glory.” (1Pe 4:13 MHM)
“That is that the non-Jews are to be joint heirs–and joint body [members] and joint partakers of the promise incorporate in Jesus Christ through the good news.” (Eph 3:6 MHM)
“But Christ as a son over his own house: whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence, and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.” (Heb 3:6 Webster)
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Heb 11:1 Webster)

Those who make peace should plant peace like a seed

“But the wisdom from above is, first of all, pure, then peaceful, kind, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. And peacemakers who sow seed in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.” (Jas 3:17-18 Cjb)
“Now, all discipline, while it is happening, does indeed seem painful, not enjoyable; but for those who have been trained by it, it later produces its peaceful fruit, which is righteousness.” (Heb 12:11 Cjb)
“The profits of the wicked are illusory; but those who sow righteousness gain a true reward.” (Pr 11:18 Cjb)
“The effect of righteousness will be peace; the result of righteousness, quiet trust forever.” (Isa 32:17 Cjb)
“If you sow righteousness for yourselves, you will reap according to grace. Break up unused ground for yourselves, because it is time to seek ADONAI, till he comes and rains down righteousness upon you.” (Ho 10:12 Cjb)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, self control. Nothing in the Torah stands against such things.” (Ga 5:22-23 Cjb)
“Those who keep sowing in the field of their old nature, in order to meet its demands, will eventually reap ruin; but those who keep sowing in the field of the Spirit will reap from the Spirit everlasting life.” (Ga 6:8 Cjb)
“for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, shalom and joy in the Ruach HaKodesh.” (Ro 14:17 Cjb)
“So from now on, we do not look at anyone from a worldly viewpoint. Even if we once regarded the Messiah from a worldly viewpoint, we do so no longer.” (2Co 5:16 Cjb)
“filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Yeshua the Messiah – to the glory and praise of God.” (Php 1:11 Cjb)
“He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like sprouting leaves.” (Pr 11:28 Cjb)
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise wins souls.” (Pr 11:30 Cjb)
““How blessed are those who make peace! for they will be called sons of God.” (Mt 5:9 Cjb)
“The one who reaps receives his wages and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that the reaper and the sower may be glad together––” (Joh 4:36 Cjb)
“And this is my prayer: that your love may more and more overflow in fullness of knowledge and depth of discernment, so that you will be able to determine what is best and thus be pure and without blame for the Day of the Messiah, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Yeshua the Messiah – to the glory and praise of God.” (Php 1:9-11 Cjb)
“Rejoice in this, even though for a little while you may have to experience grief in various trials.” (1Pe 1:6 Cjb)
“All that awaits me now is the crown of righteousness which the Lord, “the Righteous Judge, ”will award to me on that Day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for him to appear.” (2Ti 4:8 Cjb)

The high calling of God in Christ Jesus

Dutch version / Nederlands > De hoge roeping van God in Christus Jezus

“Accordingly, I am pursuing [the] goal of the prize of the upward calling of The God incorporate in Christ Jesus.” (Php 3:14 MHM)
“Do all of you not realize that those persons running in a stadium all run, but really only one [runner] receives the prize? Continue to run so that you might attain [the prize].” (1Co 9:24 MHM)
“Consequently, having left the basic teachings of the Christ, may we pass along to perfect maturity, not laying a foundation all over again of [“elementary principles”] –repentance from dead works, faith in God,” (Heb 6:1 MHM)
“For we are the [true] ‘Circumcision’ –those rendering holy worship by God’s Pneuma–boasting with regard to Christ Jesus, and not having a fleshly confidence.” (Php 3:3 MHM)
“But, we are aware that the synergy of The God is for the good of those loving The God, to those who have been invited according to His purpose. Because whomever He foreknew He also marked out in advance that they be conformed to the image of His Son that he might be the Firstborn of many brothers. Now whomever He marked out in advance He also invited. Those He invited these He also pronounced innocent; and those whom He pronounced innocent, these He also glorified.” (Ro 8:28-30 MHM
“So that He might make known His glorious riches upon vessels of mercy prepared in advance for glory– us, whom He called not only from among the Jews but also from the non-Jews.” (Ro 9:23-24 MHM) “Because, God will not change His mind regarding His charitable gifts and His invitation.” (Ro 11:29 MHM)
“He is the One who saved us and invited us with a holy calling–not according to our works, but rather according to His own purpose and unmerited charity. This He gave to us in union with Christ Jesus before times immemorial.” (2Ti 1:9 MHM)
“to continue walking in a worthy manner before The God who invited you into His own Kingdom and Glory.” (1Th 2:12 MHM)
“However, we feel obligated, brothers, beloved of YHWH, to continually thank The God in your behalf, because He selected all of you originally leading to salvation through being sanctified by the Pneuma and your belief in the Truth. He invited all of you to this by reason of the Good News, so that all of you may attain the glory of our Master Jesus Christ.” (2Th 2:13-14 MHM)
“In response to the above, holy “brothers” –partakers of a heavenly calling–thoughtfully consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.” (Heb 3:1 MHM)
“Blessed be The God and Father of our Master Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy, has [given us] a New Genesis unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, unto an incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading inheritance. [This hope] is reserved for you in the Celestialum” (1Pe 1:3-4 MHM)
“Because of this fortify the strength of your mental determination. Remain completely sober. Persist in your Hope of unmerited favor until [the] Revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1Pe 1:13 MHM)
“However, having suffered yourselves for a brief period, The God of every unmerited favor–the One who invited all of you to His endless Glory incorporate in Christ–He will train all of you, He will fix all of you firmly, He will make all of you strong.” (1Pe 5:10 MHM)
“for life and godliness has been freely granted us all things by the divine dynamics of the One who called us to His own glory and virtue by an elevated acquaintance,” (2Pe 1:3 MHM)

The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ

“They have all gone astray, they are all alike corrupt; there is none that does good, no, not one.” (Ps 14:3 RSV)
“Just as it has been written: “There is none righteous, not one! None understand! None search for The God! All have turned away! They are all together useless! None are kind! Not so much as one!” (Ro 3:10-12 MHM)
“If we should ever state: “I have never sinned, ”we cause ourselves to err and the truth is not in us. Every time we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous so that He might release us from our sins, cleansing us from unrighteousness. Every time we state: “I have never sinned, ”we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.” (1Jo 1:8-10 MHM)
“However, while we were still sinners The God demonstrated His own compassionate affection for us [in that] Christ died in our behalf.” (Ro 5:8 MHM)
“He bore our sins in his body upon the Tree, so that we might discontinue sin and live in righteousness. “By his wounds you were healed.”” (1Pe 2:24 MHM)
“He entered the world of humankind, and the Cosmos came into existence by his agency, but the world of humankind did not recognize him. He came to his own, but his own did not accept him.” (Joh 1:10-11 MHM)
“But, to everyone who did accept him he authorized to become children of God, because they believed in his name. These were born, not from blood–that is, from a fleshly desire, or a male desire–but from God.” (Joh 1:12-13 MHM)
“But, we are aware that the synergy of The God is for the good of those loving The God, to those who have been invited according to His purpose.” (Ro 8:28 MHM)
“For the payment for sin is death; but, the gracious gift of The God [is] everlasting life incorporate in Christ Jesus our Master.” (Ro 6:23 MHM)

A Breath for tomorrow

Dutch version / Nederlands > Een ademzucht voor morgen

“whereas you do not know about tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” (Jas 4:14 RSV)
“Behold, thou hast made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing in thy sight. Surely every man stands as a mere breath! [Selah]” (Ps 39:5 RSV)
“Man is like a breath, his days are like a passing shadow.” (Ps 144:4 RSV)
“Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well. "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Living in faith

“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but seeing them afar off and believing [them] and embracing [them] and confessing that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those that say such things declare plainly that they seek their native country.” (Heb 11:13-14 JB2000)

“And these all, approved by testimony of faith, received not the promise, God having provided some better thing for us, that [they] without us should not be made perfect.” (Heb 11:39-40 JB2000)

“For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous [men] have desired to see [those things] which ye see and have not seen [them] and to hear [those things] which ye hear and have not heard [them].” (Mt 13:17 JB2000)

“Jesus said unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed; blessed [are] those that have not seen and [yet] have believed.” (Joh 20:29 JB2000)

“For we [are] strangers before thee, and sojourners, as [were] all our fathers; our days on the earth [are] as a shadow, and [there is] no other hope.” (1Ch 29:15 JB2000)

“Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from the carnal desires which war against the soul” (1Pe 2:11 JB2000)

“So then, leave all uncleanness and remains of malice and receive with meekness the word ingested within you, which is able to cause your souls to be saved.” (Jas 1:21 JB2000)
